The North American country of Canada belongs to the Commonwealth. Although there have been suggestions again and again to leave the Commonwealth, the Queen of England is the head of state of Canada to this day. Many laws and regulations have her origin in the British law. This is one of the reasons for some groups to petition for a monarchy-free Canada. On the other hand, the membership in the Commonwealth has unquestionable advantages for Canada, however, primarily in tourism. Many regulations were conformed to the English law that make the entry into the country easier. The legal proximity to England makes Canada a popular destination for language trips. Since in Canada English and French are spoken, the language can be learned in this country by testing the ability in everyday situations.
For pupils, there is a special way to improve their English in Canada. They attend a school in Canada and will be taught only in English. They do, of course, participate in all courses, even at physical education. Like in every other country of the Commonwealth, school sports are very important in Canada. Besides ice hockey, Volleyball is being offered in Canadian schools; Volleyball once has been developed as an alternative to basketball and has become quite popular in Canada. At Volleyball, one can improve his linguistic skills especially well, because all instructions are given in English. The different way of playing is a chance to improve the technique in Volleyball.
The everyday life in Canada is strongly different from the life of other members of the Commonwealth. This becomes obvious in everyday situations during a language trip. Who has started playing Volleyball at a Canadian school, surely will go to a Sportshop to purchase the necessary equipment. Although a Sportshop in Canada is usually specialized in the national sport of ice hockey, but there also are different shirts, shoes and primarily balls, for volleyball. To get information about Volleyball and the equipment necessary is surely one of the best ways of improving English for a language student. Many tourists like to buy balls or shoes for Volleyball in Canada, especially because the prices often are much more reasonable than in other countries. Quite often, it is even possible to agree that the Sportshop will deliver the purchased equipment overseas.
Another useful experience when learning the language is to find a temporary job in a Canadian shop. Who is interested in sports, surely can get a small job in a shop. Who wants to earn a little money, should have a great knowledge about all kinds of sports. Advising the customers and answering their questions is very important for a Canadian Sportshop, too. Since Volleyball is very seldom played, knowledge about this sport is particularly valuable. Students how have played Volleyball for a long time and have some knowledge about the laws and the sport may be of special interest for a Sportshop. At the same time, advising customers is a good opportunity to improve the language (günstig Parken Flughafen Frankfurt or Preisvergleich Parken Flughafen Frankfurt in german for example) skills.

Isn't it
time we got the Queen off our money? |
|
Canada has evolved into a multicultural society. A number of these
heritages share a strained history with the Monarchy.
We are especially concerned with the negative impact our currency
imposes on Quebec. Does the monarchy truly represent the common
spirit of our country?
Canada has produced
many notable people who we could feature on our coins and bank
notes. Our country deserves shareable imagery. |
